What We Provide
Basic Agriculture Science and Tech.
The first class in the AG pathway at NPHS.
Basic AG provides an introduction to all facets of Agriculture, where we have been, where we are, and where we are going. Topics covered range from Horticulture and Animal Science, to Mechanics and Biotechnology. As with all of our classes, FFA involvement is a fantastic companion to reinforce and build stronger knowledge and understanding using a very hands on approach.
General Horticulture
Class #2 in our Pathway
General Horticulture is for plant lovers. We delve in depth into the plant industry. Whether it be ornamental horticulture and landscaping, greenhouse production, or fruit and vegetable production, we will cover the ins and outs of how to approach this fantastic field of study that is a strong industry in our community.
Landscape Design and Management
The 3rd and Final Class in the Pathway
This class focus on plant selection and practical, hands on design, and application of the landscape. Students will learn multiple landscape plant species and how to design, install, and care for them in the landscape. Students will learn both hand drawn and CAD computer based design.

Our Agriculture Education program focuses on the 3-ring model of Ag Ed: Classroom/Labratory, Supervised Agriculture Experience or SAE, and FFA. Student that get involved are blown away at the opportunities afforded them as well as the vast career opportunities that the Agriculture Industry provides.
